Bottle Stopper Hand Made from Bocote Wood and Stainless Steel, P2752

Hand Made Bottle Stopper turned on my lathe with Bocote Wood, sanded and finished with Walnut Oil and Carnuba Wax for a long lasting finish that is easy to care for. This a very upscale way of preserving all that has not been consumed, be that wine, vinegar or some of those special kitchen oils setting on your counters. As an addition to your kitchen decor you will be proud to display all of your bottles. In our kitchen my wife has some of her oils with sprigs of herbs floating in them and they just look wonderful. I am sure you will find many uses for your new bottle stopper.

All of my Bottle Stoppers have a Stainless Steel base with rubber rings to seal the bottles. These are Not chrome plated and will Not chip and corrode. I turn the wood used on each one on my lathe with hand tools and the apply a walnut oil finish. I take pictures of each Bottle Stopper so the one you see in the picture is the one you will receive. There is no need to wonder what yours will look like.

This Bottle Stopper is 1 1/4" wide and from tip to tip is 4 3/4" tall and weighs 2.8 oz. Care is very simple, just wipe it off with a damp rag. If it starts to look tired wipe it with a little kitchen oil and all will be good. Now for the Do Not's! Don't put them in the dishwasher, don't put them the a sink of water, don't throw them (just kidding) and lastly don't put them in a drawer and forget about them. They are meant to be used and displayed and will bring many a smile to others.

Bocote wood with its striking, zebra-like contrasts, and bold figuring, Bocote can be a very eye-catching wood. Bocote is generally used for its aesthetic attributes, rather than its mechanical ones—and although Bocote is by no means weak, its strength-to-weight ratio is below average. (It is roughly as stiff and strong as Hard Maple, even though Bocote is considerably heavier.) Bocote is found in Mexico and Central/South America and not listed in the CITES Appendices or on the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species.
